Liebe to start new carbon and nitrogen project

The Liebe Group has been successful in obtaining $519,200 worth of funding as part of the federal governments Carbon Farming initiative. Project ends in June 2015.

The project is about demonstrating innovative carbon storage and nitrogen management strategies and involves the following activities:

  • The practice for profit trial to demonstrate the effect of rotation crops on nitrogen strategies
  • Minimum of 4 demonstration trials to be developed by the committee focusing on soil amendments.
  • Demonstration of the new perennial shrub – Tedera
  • Benchmarking Program to measure soil carbon levels under different management practices, re-visiting sites tested over 5 years ago through the soilquality.org program.
